The Skyranger Nynja kit-build microlight, designed by Flylight Airsports at Sywell Aerodrome, is one of the most popular 3-axis microlights in existence. For me, it was the obvious choice of aircraft for my project.
Check out my build page to learn more about the Nynja, and the modifications I plan on making to help me circumnavigate the globe.
As I start the build, I’ll also post updates and track my overall progress on our build page.
Once my Nynja is complete, I plan to fly it around the world. No small feat for a 300kg microlight I built myself!
At this stage in my planning, I aim to head west, crossing the North Atlantic toward North America, before turning south, toward the equator. My route will take me on a journey of more than 30,000 nautical miles – more than 55,000km – through 40 countries, over several months.

At the age of six, I dreamt of becoming a pilot. My dream of circumnavigating the globe by plane wasn't too far behind.
Supported by my incredible family, I have made the first part of my dream a successful reality.
Around the World at 80 Knots is about realising the second part.
